The Brigitte Trust – 30th Anniversary 2015 – a Home-grown Dorking charity

The Brigitte Trust was set up by Dorking resident Brigitte Watkin who wanted to provide emotional support and practical help to patient and carers in their own home at the end of life.  Initially called Hospice Home Care the charity has  grown to cover most of Surrey, plus Crawley and Horsham Boroughs. Volunteers offer 4 hours each week.  The time could be spent offering carers a respite break for a few hours, shopping, transport or just sitting quietly and listening. Volunteers are always needed and full training and support is offered.
