Jumble Sale
Ockley Village Hall
16 Oct 2010
Elderslie Nursery School (charity reg. 1091195) are yet again holding one of their famous jumble sales! Why famous, I hear you ask? Well we have some fabulous items donated every year from some very generous people, not just jumble items but also tombola prizes and delicious cakes, and these good quality items draw people in from miles around! We can accept jumble deliveries from 11am on the morning of the sale and the sale itself starts at 2pm. Sadly, we cannot accept electrical items as by law all electrical items must be tested prior to being sold, so if you come along with anything electrical, I''m afraid you will be sent home with it again. We would also be very grateful for donations of cakes and items suitable for the tombola. If you wish to help out on the day, please contact Mr Jeremy Phillipson on 01306 877231. Even an hour of your time would be helpful. We look forward to seeing many people there.

Welcome

A visit to the market town of Dorking and to the surrounding Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a special experience. The town nestles in the narrow valley between the Greensand Hills to the south and the chalk hills of the North Downs. Almost anywhere within Dorking there are glimpses out towards the Surrey Hills providing a dramatic backdrop to the day-to-day activities of the town. The countryside in turn provides panoramic views of Dorking. The spire of the parish church of St Martins is one of the tallest in the country and it acts as a landmark for visitors and local people alike.

This web site provides a guide to the blend of town and countryside that visitors down the centuries have acknowledged to be one of the most beautiful in England. It is a landscape of variety and a town of character that has inspired writers, poets, musicians and painters. It is an area that waits to be explored. Visitors will find local people only too pleased to show off their corner of England that is close to their hearts.
